You Should Try This Color Changing Nail Polish (Just Add Sun Nail Polish Review)

Today, we would like to welcome you to a new series of reviews here at Help Me Pick that will very simply be known as, “Should I Try It?” in which we will assess one product and let you know whether or not it is worth your hard-earned money. The only choice you’ll have to make is if you trust our recommendation or not! With that, let’s get started.

I almost never have nail polish on my fingernails. I keep my toenails painted, but I am just too hard on my hands to make a DIY manicure last more than a couple days. Despite the impracticality, when I saw this Just Add Sun color-changing nail polish while grabbing my toiletries at Walmart, I had to try it.

This nail polish starts at one color and changes to a different color once in sunlight. I picked up “Dahlia,” which starts as a creamy white and transitions to a beautiful petal pink. It needed about 3 coats to be opaque, and then I used my favorite quick-dry topcoat to finish it off. My local store had a cool display to test the color-changing element, pictured below.

Of course, I had to test it instantly once it was dry, so I ran outside and waited. It did not take long in direct sunlight to quickly become a nice, bright shade of pink. It started to change instantly and took about 30 seconds to completely change.

However, that was in very bright sun. In less direct sun, it takes longer to transform, and it did not get as bright overall. I find the dynamics of this nail polish fascinating and very fun. If you are still unsure about whether or not you should try this nail polish, I would definitely say it is worth it. It works surprisingly well and is a lot of fun, and the price is on par with other drugstore nail polish brands. The serotonin boost you get from this versus a standard nail polish is unmatched!
