The Anti-Chafe Stick That Actually Works

While the general consensus may be that thick thighs save lives, it can be tough to save lives when your thighs are burning from rubbing together all day. There are many solutions out there to prevent chafing - deodorant, biker shorts, baby powder, the list goes on… and I’ve tried them all to varied levels of success.

Another product that I’ve seen gain popularity lately is the MegaBabe Thigh Rescue Anti Chafe Stick. It is an anti-friction stick, similar in appearance to deodorant, that you rub between your thighs and it creates a barrier. Your thighs are free to rub together and the chafe-free barrier prevents the usual rash and pain that us girls are all too familiar with.

Based on this description, it sounds like an amazing product and I was super excited to try it a few months ago. I was convinced it would be the missing key I’ve needed to go on hot girl walks despite the intense summer heat. I am down to try anything that claims to reduce discomfort, so here is an honest review on the MegaBabe Thigh Rescue Anti Chafe Stick.

Simply put, it didn’t work for me. We can keep it short and sweet here - a lot of people swear by it, but it just didn’t work for me. It felt dry and greasy at the same time and I did not feel any type of anti-friction barrier. It worked for maybe the first thigh rub, but after that it was as if I hadn’t used anything.

Now, I don’t want to leave you hanging with a bad product. This is a This or That, after all. Since I was so intrigued by the product conceptually, I had to see what else was out there and choose carefully between the many available options. I knew it might be a pointless quest, but I had to try anyway.

Let me just say, good thing I did. I found a cheaper product that actually works. Where was this during my entire childhood when I refused to wear shorts to avoid the chafing? This is my new chub-rub staple and it does everything MegaBabe promises to do.

The Gold Bond Friction Defense Stick is actually moisturizing, does not leave any residue behind on your clothes, and works for hours. I reapply after a few hours outside as a preventive measure, but I’ve gone up to 8 hours without even thinking about it. It’s small enough to throw in your bag and go on with your day without worrying about uncomfortable thigh chafing.

Gold Bond’s stick is about half the price of MegaBabe’s product, so my wallet and my thighs are happier. I cannot recommend this enough. So, in conclusion, if you’re in the market for an anti-chafing solution, try out Gold Bond’s Friction Defense Stick and pass on MegaBabe’s Thigh Rescue Anti Chafe Stick.  Your thighs will thank you for it!

You can purchase the Gold Bond Anti-Chafe Stick from Amazon, CVS Health, Walgreens, and Walmart.

How do you use an anti-chafing stick?

Simply twist the stick up a bit, just as you would deodorant. From there, apply it liberally to any areas that rub together when you engage in physical activity.

Do anti-chafing sticks work?

Yes! We can confirm that the Gold Bond Friction Defense Stick will actually reduce chafing, and leave your thighs feeling much better.
